Vladimir Putin congratulated Antonis Samaras on the victory of the New Democracy party in the elections to the Parliament of the Hellenic Republic and on his appointment as Prime Minister of Greece.
In his message, the Russian leader expressed confidence that Antonis Samaras’ extensive political experience will help to resolve the complicated problems facing Greece and the Greek society, and stressed the need for further developing Russian-Greek dialogue on issues on the bilateral and international agenda.
