The second Nuclear Security Summit was held in Seoul, dedicated to national measures and international cooperation in strengthening nuclear security.

A Communiqué was adopted following the Summit, in which the heads of delegations reaffirmed their commitment to the decisions of the 2010 Washington Summit aimed at strengthening nuclear security and reducing the threat of nuclear terrorism, as well as common goals in the field of nuclear disarmament, nuclear non-proliferation and peaceful use of nuclear energy.

The next Nuclear Security Summit will be held in the Netherlands in 2014.

On the Summit’s sidelines, Dmitry Medvedev had meetings with President of the United States Barack Obama, President of the Republic of Korea Lee Myung-bak, Prime Minister of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and King Abdullah II of Jordan.
