The issues discussed included the development of preschool education and cultural institutions for young children, the financing of preschool institutions and libraries, the salaries of such institutions’ employees and measures to support orphans, large families and families with children with disabilities.

Later, Dmitry Medvedev met with media representatives of the Northwestern Federal District.

The President also had a meeting with head of the Republic of Karelia Andrei Nelidov.

In the President’s presence, Andrei Nelidov and Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller signed a contract for expanding gas supply areas in Karelia.
